Portions of this work were presented at the Annual Meeting of The American Federation for Clinical Research, Atlantic City, N. J., 5 May 1974. Received for publication 21 June 1974 and in revised form 18 November 1974. dose UN (0.047±0.013) and high dose (0.024±0.003 nVs/g kidney wt/mm Hg). Therefore UN decreases GFR by two mechanisms: (a) tubular damage leading to back-diffusion of solutes and (b) a primary reduction in sngfr due to reduced LpA.
